Which conditions can
be treated by Acupuncture?
Acupuncture may safely
be used in conjunction with other prescribed treatments and may enhance the
effect of some treatments but you must inform your Acupuncture Practitioner
of other concurrent treatments.
Research has demonstrated
that the outcome of I.V.F. treatment is greatly improved by acupuncture.
Acupuncture is used to
treat most conditions but is also beneficial in promoting wellbeing and preventing
ill health. The World Health Organisation has an approved list of conditions
which respond well to Acupuncture. Some of these conditions are:
- Pain due to
arthritis, injury, sciatica and other causes. Acupuncture will not cure
arthritis but by relieving the pain it improves mobility.
- Gastrointestinal
problems i.e. nausea, vomiting, excess weight, constipation, diarrhoea
and other bowel disorders.
- Emotional and mental
difficulties i.e. depression, insomnia, fatigue, anxiety and stress.
- Gynaecological disorders
i.e. infertility, endometriosis, P.M.T. and menopausal problems.
- During pregnancy
many ailments can be treated without risk e.g. nausea or vomiting and it
